Growing up, I was raised on a ranch. Besides raising beef cattle, my father and grandfather also planted a substantial annual garden. All year long, we enjoyed munching on fresh peas, butter beans, corn, tomatoes, and peppers. My family also had a pecan orchard. Because I live in a subdivision, my children won’t be able to enjoy the type of agricultural upbringing I had. However, I still want them to learn where their food comes from. Therefore, I plan to take them on trips to the local farmers market. They will be able to choose their favorite fruits and vegetables. On this blog, you will learn how to turn a trip to a farmers market into an educational outing.
